Crossroads College began in 1913 as the International Christian Bible College by David E. Olson. The original building on the campus in Minneapolis still stands as a historic landmark. Built in proximity to Dinkytown, the building affectionately became known as “The Dinky Dome,” and the three large pillars facing University Avenue have been a landmark since it was built in 1913.
In 1924, the school was renamed Minnesota Bible College and the name changed again in 1932 to Minnesota Bible University. Another name change occurred in 1942 when the school became Minnesota Bible College.
In 1971, the school moved from Minneapolis to Rochester to a campus that offers one of the best views of South Rochester. Football is played informally on the hill above the campus and broomball is played on the pond below the campus each winter. The school was renamed Crossroads College in 2002.
Crossroads is a Bible college, requiring students to complete a substantial biblical studies core. Students are expected to develop spiritual dedication and to participate in Christian service experiences. Students must have a dedication to Christ, develop a Christian lifestyle and dedicate themselves to ministry. Crossroads bases studies in self-revelation as described in the Scriptures, enabling students to view the world holistically and giving meaning to the knowledge the develop while attending the college.
Crossroads offers online classes through their Compass Adult Studies Department. The classes are accelerated and scheduled to fit the needs of the student. Students may choose an all on-campus, all online or hybrid format, depending on their need for flexibility.
Students are able to participate in spiritual formation groups, campus ministry, field service and missions to further demonstrate their desire to serve the community through their faith.

Crossroads College is accredited by the Transitional Association of Christian Colleges and Schools, confirming that students will receive the highest quality Christian education available. In addition, the college is affiliated with the Association of Biblical Higher Education and is recognized by the United States Department of Education.
Crossroads College Application Requirements
In order to apply to Crossroads College, students must complete an online application. There is no application fee to apply. Students must provide official high school transcripts as well as transcripts from any college or university they have attended.
Crossroads College Tuition and Fees
Courses at Crossroads College cost $360 per semester hour for on-campus classes and $310 per credit hour for online classes. Full-time tuition is $15,560 per year. Financial aid is available. Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in order to qualify for aid. Students may qualify for scholarships, grants, student loans or work-study programs.

Bachelor of Science in Counseling
The Bachelor of Science in Counseling Psychology is designed to provide students with the tools and knowledge they will need to obtain positions as counselors. The program provides students with counseling fundamentals using a Christian world view. Students develop an understanding of human psychological development and gain the skills necessary to help individuals, families as well as groups and the community with mental health services.
Students will gain the skills and knowledge to:
- Integrate a biblical view of people with an understanding of Christianity’s role in the counseling process
- Demonstrate knowledge of the theories and techniques of counseling
- Recognize and be aware of the needs of others
- Demonstrate an understanding of special issues that may affect individuals or groups

Today, organizations are seeking individuals of character who are leaders, visionaries and able to communicate effectively. Students may apply skills and knowledge learned at Crossroads immediately upon entering the workforce. The program requires students to complete 120 semester hours that must include general studies, biblical studies and core classes related to the major. In addition, students may be required to take additional electives.
The online program is designed to prepare students as counselors or caregivers and is appropriate for continuing education hours necessary for licensure in most states. The online format allows students to take just one class at a time and there are year-round options available.
Crossroads College offers direction and Christ-centered focus to students, helping them develop ethical and influential leadership and decision-making skills. Students are able to communicate effectively and build relationships throughout their career. The school is dedicated to helping students develop maturity in Jesus Christ and His service.
