Bachelor of Science, Major in Psychology

A Bachelor of Science degree with a major in psychology is a flexible degree that will allow students to specialize in a psychological field that they are interested in. The degree also allows for flexibility in the job market. The goals of the degree program at Central Michigan University are to help students understand themselves, and the world around them as well as to provide an in-depth and general knowledge of human behavior and development. The program will also teach students how to effectively use their interpersonal skills in a professional and care environment. This degree is a pathway for graduate degrees in the field of psychology as well as entering the workplace. The successful completion of this degree will provide students with the knowledge and skills to enter into the following careers:

Students are required to take a minimum of 124 credits to complete their degree. They take a wide variety of courses in areas like general education, psychology and electives. The general education courses include:

These electives should be selected advantageously, and they should be approved by a student's academic adviser as well as the Director of Undergraduate Degree Programs and the Academic Liaison.
