Located just over 20 miles from the downtown district in St. Louis, Maryville is a private college offering bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees. Approximately 8,000 students enroll each academic year. Of these, about 2,500 are traditional undergraduates while an additional 800 are adults who attend the institution either on campus or online. Founded in 1872, the institution was originally named the Maryville Academy of the Sacred Heart. By the 1950s, the College was known as the Maryville College of the Sacred Heart, and it had relocated to its current neighborhood. Maryville became co-educational in 1968. Maryville University of Saint Louis Application Requirements

Admission requirements for undergraduates include holding a high school diploma. In earning this credential, applicants must have completed a minimum of three units of mathematics, two units of social sciences, four units of English and two units of science. Completing additional units in any of these areas may help to ensure admittance. A GPA of at least 2.5 must have been maintained during high school. SAT and ACT scores are optional. Full acceptance to the program is available to those who maintained a GPA of at least 3.0 in prior college coursework. Tuition and Financial Aid

For one academic year, undergraduate students will pay approximately $26,000. Summer Session classes with a full-time class load cost approximately $13,100. Students in the Master of Arts in Rehabilitation Counseling pay $663 per credit hour over 48 credit hours.
