If you are an incoming freshman applying to the traditional program, the application form you complete will be different than that for someone applying as an online student. There are also different applications for graduate and transfer students. The university does not charge an application fee. After completing the application form, incoming freshman students should arrange to have their high school transcripts sent to the school. Tuition and Financial Aid
Traditional undergraduate students taking 12 to 18 hours under block tuition will pay $11,862 per semester in tuition. Your room rate and your meal plan will both be $2,148 and there is a $450 general fee so if you are going to be an undergraduate living on campus, you can expect to pay $16,608 per semester for your education at Trevecca. Graduate students pay $10,446 per semester in tuition. There may be other costs associated with individual programs, however, and the above figures do not include things like books and supplies or personal expenses.
Getting a higher education is not cheap, and most students require financial aid. The first step to getting that help is to complete the FAFSA form. This is a program administered by the federal government that uses financial information you submit to award you grants or loans or to qualify you for work-study funds. You may qualify for a subsidized loan through FAFSA which means that if you keep your principle amount paid, the government will pay the interest. In addition to the federal program, there are state awards. Tennessee offers the Hope Scholarship which is merit-based and pays up to $1,750 each semester. The state also funds the Tennessee Student Assistance Award that is need-based and pays up to $4,000 per year for low income recipients. The Tennessee Promise grant is awarded to students earning associate degrees and pays up to $4,000. Those students are encouraged to enroll to complete a four-year degree program.
Your application to Trevecca serves as your application for institutional student aid. Most of the scholarships offered through the school are merit based. There are scholarships for leadership potential; endowed awards; departmental awards; church matching awards in which the school matches checks sent by a church on behalf of a student; diversity awards and athletic scholarships. In addition to those awards offered through the school, private individuals, service organizations and corporations often sponsor scholarships for certain students who meet the criteria they set. These can be found through an Internet search.
