The University of North Texas is one of the state's largest schools, offering 100 undergraduate degrees, 83 master's-level programs and 37 doctoral programs. On an institutional level, the University of North Texas holds accreditation from The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. University of North Texas Application Requirements

Application requirements at the University of North Texas vary based on program and student status. Applicants will need to submit basic proof of prior education. Essays and letters of recommendation are not required. Traditional freshmen students are guaranteed admission if they meet the following parameters:

• A ranking within the top 10 percent of their high school class with submitted SAT or ACT test scores
• A ranking within the top 15 percent of their high school class with a minimum 950 SAT or 20 ACT
• A ranking within the 2nd quarter of their high school class with a minimum 1050 SAT or 23 ACT
• A ranking within the 3rd quarter of their high school class with a minimum 1180 SAT or 26 ACT

Texas state students must also meet certain educational requirements, such as core classes taken during high school and minimum standardized test scores. The university will accept other applicants on the basis of their individual review process. Applicants need to complete an online or physical application, pay the application fee before the priority date and submit official test scores and transcripts on time to be considered.

Graduate students have separate requirements depending on their program, so graduate applicants should check with the department's website for additional information. In general, graduate applicants must apply online or by paper by the deadline, pay a nonrefundable $75 fee, submit standardized test scores and official transcripts, and meet certain educational standards, such as a 3.0 GPA.

Tuition and Financial Aid

For 20 years, the University of North Texas has been recognized as one of the country's 100 Best Buys by Forbes magazine. There are two tuition rate structures in place at the school: the Traditional Tuition Plan and the Eagle Express Tuition Plan. The Eagle Express plan allows students to lock in their tuition rate for four years, but it's only available for Texas residents seeking a bachelor's degree.

For undergraduates, the statutory tuition cost is $50 per credit for Texas residents, $100 per credit for Oklahoma residents and $458 per credit for non-resident students of these states. The board-designated tuition rate for graduate students is $177.79 per credit.
