Students must provide official high school transcripts along with official ACT or SAT scores. After the application is submitted, students must arrange to meet with their personal admission counselor. Students who have earned college credit after high school graduation may apply as transfer students. Students must have a 2.5 GPA or higher in all previous college work and be eligible to attend the last school where they were enrolled. Students may substitute military experience, work experience and previous academic performance but should speak to an admissions counselor before applying to confirm their ability to do so. Students must complete an application and provide official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended. Students who have earned less than 30 college credits after high school graduation will also need to provide official high school transcripts.
Once documents have been submitted, students must schedule an appointment with their personal admissions counselor. Adult learners should contact the admissions office via email with “Academic Degree Plan” as the subject line. The email should include the students’ name, phone number, email address and their program of interest. Each graduate program has their own admission criteria. Students who wish to enter the Master of Science in Nursing program must provide an application and an admission essay. They must also provide official transcripts from all colleges or universities attended. Students must have a 3.0 undergraduate GPA as well. A letter of recommendation and a resume are also required.
Students must have two years of full-time clinical nursing practice in the last four years and a valid, registered nursing license. Students must have completed Physical Assessment and Nursing Research, Advanced Health Assessment as well as Biostatics and Research with a grade of “C” or better. Students must also complete a three-semester hour introductory statistics course. An interview with a College of Nursing faculty member must also be completed.
