Approved by the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) and the CACREP, the Master of Science (M.S.) in School Counseling is a part-time graduate program that consists of a total of 48 semester credits for completion. Within the intensive curriculum, students explore the topics of human growth, career development, social and cultural diversity, ethical practice, helping relationships, group dynamics, assessment, and program evaluation. Throughout the program, graduate students benefit from actively engaging in didactic coursework, small group experiences, and applied learning at school-based practice sites. In the last year of study, students are required to complete a 600-hour internship and successfully pass the CPCE Examination for earning the master's degree.

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Counselor Education and Supervision

Designed for qualified individuals who wish to further their prior graduate level counseling education, the Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision is the only CACREP-approved program that involves the integration of spiritual, ethical, and religious values into counseling. As students embark on a journey to incorporate theory and techniques of the helping profession with the insights of both theology and spirituality, the doctoral program offers supervised academic and clinical training experiences. Requiring students to complete at least 45 core credit hours and 12 concentration credits, the doctoral degree can be earned in a minimum of four academic years in preparation for teaching and supervisory positions.
